The story goes that Nathan Mayer Rothschild, once reputed to be the wealthiest man of his generation, made a fortune because he was the first to learn of Napoleon’s defeat at the Battle of Waterloo. Informed by his couriers, the baron cornered the consol market, proving how powerful ‘breaking news’ is. It’s been the same ever since that time. Well-heeled investors and institutions get the news first with costly financial news feeds that most of us cannot afford.
CityFALCON is offering developers, agencies, start-ups and small investors the chance to join the premier league by building exciting apps and sites. By donating just £20 per month to ActionAid, you gain access to our Financial News API and get to tap the CityFALCON datasets and functionality. If you build something interesting, we’ll even help you market it out to our users.
We’ve realised that while we have all the data, we struggle to address the use cases of all our potential consumers and clients. At the same time, we have received several requests for our API for interesting use cases. As a FinTech start-up, we are ready to give this a shot. We are hoping that some of you will launch commercial apps and generate incremental revenue for us. £20 donation will mean that you are serious about this and our admin investment is worth the effort.
In addition, we want to scale our systems to be able to handle almost unlimited API calls, and power the next generation apps and services in the InvesTech space. We would love to hear your feedback and learn from you as you use the API.
Get access to our API right away by visiting our Just Giving page to donate £20 a month to ActionAid. At the moment, you will have to do so every month to make your donation. We haven’t yet found a solution that allows us to get you to make a recurring payment. Let us know if you know of any. Please do add your name and details so we know you’ve made the payment. And, of course, you can cancel out of this anytime.

Hi
You people are doing amazing work. I would like to subscribe to the financial news through your API for one of my initiatives and ready for monthly donations. I have few questions though:
1. What is the main source of these news ? Is it RSS or do you scan the headlines on the sites. I’m more interested in the news/headlines available on the main pages.
2. Through your API, can I access the categorization/tags assigned to the news ? Assuming cityFalcon is categorizing/assigning tags to news.
And can you please share more details about the API.
Thanks,
Arun Mehta
