The Trending Tab is naturally dedicated to trending stories, whether they're on your watchlists or not. This guide only focuses on the dedicated tab. If you just want a quick view while monitoring you watchlists (and a convenient way to add them to the current watchlist), you can check out our Trending Bar.
Since this is a dedicated page, you can access it from the left sidebar by clicking on the icon indicated by the blue arrow here, and you will be taken to the trending portal:
Hint: if the image is too small, you can always open it in its own tab for the full sized image. Zendesk compresses the image dimensions when rendering.
On the right under the black arrow, you can see generally trending topics across every category that ignore the filters. There are also two filters on this page. We have the normal story filters (yellow arrow), which you can find on every results page, and the trending filters (red arrow), which of course is only available in the trending bar or on this tab dedicated to trending stories. The trending filter will look like this if you activate it:
A simple, straightforward menu to exclude results that are irrelevant to you by specifying topic classes, economic sectors, or business and economic events. Dive deeper into the attributes here.
How it Works and A Use Case
Finally, a quick note on how it works: we classify a topic as trending if it recently saw a large increase in the number of publications or tweets mentioning it. We process millions of pieces of content every day, so we are able to identify trends early.
You can use this tab to quickly identify new targets or keep track of the latest important developments outside any of your normal watchlists. Some people might need it for prediction, while others use it for confirmation of suspected rising topics.
