If you want to upload your portfolio or Excel-based watchlist to CityFALCON, you will need to provide a CSV file. This is quite simple in Excel and other spreadsheet programs.
If you have strange formatting in the Excel file, convert to CSV without changing it. Then double check your CSV after conversion with a simple text editor (like Notepad) just to make sure it is regular text.
Instructions for Conversion
Once you've downloaded your portfolio data from your broker or created your watchlist in our template, simply save the file using Save As and choosing CSV format.
Go to the File ribbon/menu:
Then go to the Save As and choose your location:
And when the Save As dialog box appears, choose your filename and select CSV for the Save as type:
You can only save a single sheet per CSV file. Excel will save the currently active sheet only. If you have multiple sheets in one Excel or other spreadsheet file, you will have to save each one individually. You will get this warning message:
To save each sheet individually, open the sheet you want to save by clicking the tab on the bottom of the screen and repeat the conversion steps above for each one:
